We provide a 3 hour training programme aimed at employees members of an organisation who are chosen in the voluntary role of Designated Contact Person as per the Dignity at Work Policy and who will have the responsibility for handling informal complaints in relation to bullying, harassment or sexual harassment. It is therefore necessary to train these persons on the following areas:
- An overview of the legal implications of workplace bullying, harassment and sexual harassment including 2020 Bullying Code of Practice
- An understanding of the associated behaviours/definitions
- Guide to Dignity at Work Policy
- An outline of the role of the designated contact person
- A complete understanding of the complaints process including
- initial informal
- secondary informal
- formal - investigation process and outcome
- Knowledge and skills on handling this role
The workshop places a high deal of emphasis on skills building during the training, in order to provide participants with the opportunity to learn the skills that they will be required to use in the event of handling an informal colleague issue. It is therefore necessary to train these persons on the following areas:
- An overview of the legal implications of workplace bullying, harassment and sexual harassment including 2020 Bullying Code of Practice
- An understanding of the associated behaviours/definitions
- Guide to Dignity at Work Policy
- An outline of the role of the Designated Contact Person
- An outline of the role & detailed responsiblities of the Nominated Person
- A complete understanding of the complaints process including
- initial informal
- secondary informal - including nominal record keeping
- formal - investigation process and outcome
- Knowledge and skills on handling this role
